AISD Garden-Building Materials

Qualifying schools are elgigible to receive AISD materials including limestone bricks, garden soil, and chipper mulch. In order to request these materials, follow the instructions in the guidelines and submit an application.

Christmas Tree Mulch

City of Austin Parks & Recreation Department
In January free mulch is available on a first-come-first-service basis and is for strictly for private use. Individuals picking up mulch should bring their own bags and equipment. Park personnel will not be available to assist with loading.

Free Glass Cullet

City of Austin Resource Recovery Center
Glass mulch/glass cullet is made from recycled glass and is available at the Landfill. People are asked to bring their own shovels, gloves and containers for the mulch (if not loading into a pickup).
